Automatic Balthazar unlocks
I'm a PvE player wanting UAX, but with very little actual interest in playing PvP. And I'm at the point where the only unlocks I've got left aren't likely to ever get used.
What I'm proposing is that if your doing something in guild wars and you earn some Balthazar faction that would put you over your faction cap, and you aren't at UAX for the chapters you have access to, then you will have your faction automatically spent so that you don't waste any faction by earning it at the cap.
I'll leave it up to ANET to decide what order you have things automatically unlocked in, but I'd advise a system that always goes for the cheapest thing you haven't got unlocked yet. If and only if a player has UAX, then their Balthazar faction should be automatically spent on tournament tokens.
- People who want to spend the faction on specific things will spend it before it reaches the cap. So they should be unaffected.
- People who want UAX, but don't have anything in particular they want to unlock won't have to bother with searching through the priest to find stuff they haven't unlocked and deciding what to get. Though this isn't much work.
- People who are a bit careless in making sure they don't go over the limit won't waste any faction. The same goes for people who somehow earn more faction than they can hold, even if they didn't have enough to spend on an unlock beforehand (the only way I can see for this is very long winning streaks).
So while this is a change that will only give minor benefits to players, but I don't see it disadvantaging anyone at all.
If your only complaint about this suggestion is that ANET should spend time working elsewhere, please state so clearly in your post so that it can be easily told apart from people who have actual problems with this suggestion.

So if you have little interest in PvP, it doesn't matter if you unlock skills through balth faction or not...if you actually care enough you'd spend it...

I personally bought all three pvp packs for 2 reasons
1, it gives me access to all non elite skills atthe first skill trainer i go to in that chapter
2, its more income for ANet

you are forgetting one small detail, what about those that earn rank and gladiator titles, then well their increased faction cap is kinda a bit worthless eh.

if you don't care about PvP balthazar unlocks shouldn't be important. Plus unless your in a serious PvP guild you shouldn't be going over your cap by 10k... You should have plenty of time to unload your faction. Plus if they did that. Anet would be bugged by forum posts on why did it unlock bitter chill and not rampage as one. etc .etc.

And plus you hardly ever gain over 1000 faction at once, so their would have to be a hidden counter, defeating the point.
Just earn a hero or glad title or two. My cap is at 36k, So I never have to worry about hitting it.

I need to get a stamp made that says
REALLY FREAKIN DUMB THREAD
and just start spammin it everywhere. Honestly WTF would be the point of a thread if anything that goes over the cap gets saved and automatically spent?
This ranks up there with that tread about that guy who wanted buffs for his PvE guy when he PvPed with him cause no one accepted him in a group cause he was PvE.
